Your partner is missing everything. What do you do?
Partner in a spiral: take the hard balls, give them the easy ones, and say what to do rather than what went wrong.
Your partner has hit four unforced errors in the last two games and is visibly frustrated. What helps?
Partner in a spiral: take the hard balls, give them the easy ones, and say what to do rather than what went wrong.
Why
A partner who is missing has lost confidence, not technique, and confidence is rebuilt by simple successes. For a few points the stronger player takes more of the middle balls and the difficult overheads, leaving the partner the comfortable shots, a deep lob, an easy volley, and gives short, positive, forward-looking instructions: "deep lob here", "yours, take your time". Technical corrections mid-match land as criticism and make the spiral worse. Two or three clean points and the partner is back; a lecture and a lost set later they are not.
What this means at your level
Beginner
If your partner is struggling, say "good idea" when their idea was good even if the shot was not. Then take the next hard ball yourself.
Intermediate
Call the middle balls early and loud so your partner is never unsure. Uncertainty is what produces the errors.
Advanced
Give them one shot to focus on for the next game, "just lob deep, I will do the rest". Narrowing the job restores the player.

A frustrated player cannot process technical advice mid-match. It sounds like blame, whatever you meant.
